Our life driving forces are our own thoughts and our own desires. Everything we come to experience is a result of our way of thinking and our way of acting. If we attract certain situations in our life, this is simply a result of our own thoughts that we either think consciously or unconsciously. It is said that 97% of all our thoughts go through our head without our knowing. And it is those 97% of our thoughts that bring all kind of situations in our life regardless if we like them or not.

This is why it is important to be aware about our own thoughts and develop more conscious way of thinking and acting. This is important simply because we no longer want to attract situations that are not to our liking. We want to feel under control of our life and we want to live our dreams.

There are many thinking patterns that run on autopilot and create certain situations over and over again. We must learn to be aware of the present moment and we will hear those thoughts much easier. But more than that, it is important not to pay attention to undesired thoughts but concentrate on the desired outcomes of any future situation.

The same applies to our way of doing things. We should do our best to always think through before we do anything and we will have a much easier life. No longer will we enter unpleasant situations over and over again, but we will rather think before we do any action and think how we want that particular situation to unravel. That will save you from many unpleasant moments you may have experienced in the past.

It is important that we learn to avoid doing things that part of us seem to be attracted to if we realize that it will not in fact bring us any happiness, but rather just a temporary pleasure with devastating consequences. To be your own best friend means to listen to yourself and know what will be good for you and what not. It is not that hard to avoid certain things when you are aware about the consequences it would deliver.
